With all hope seemingly lost, Madrid’s substitute striker Joselu turned the tie on its head after scoring two goals in the space of three minutes. This time, VAR could not be used to check the incredibly tight decision because the referee had blown his whistle. “It almost feels like a betrayal because of that decision,” Tuchel told TNT Sports after the match. From fan to heroAfter the full-time whistle, Madrid celebrated in style as it crowned Joselu the club’s new hero. As a forward, you dream of scoring goals, and if they’re like tonight’s, then even better,” Joselu said after the match.

Rich baby boomers jumped in with all-cash offers, and sellers scored huge windfalls as weary buyers pushed prices to new heights. After all, people have to move for a wide variety of life reasons; mortgage rates be damned. "The further and further we get from the peak of the market," Peterson told me, "the harder it is to deny what's happened." Mortgage rates haven't fallen — in fact, they've gone up about 0.6 percentage points since the start of the year. "It can always be tricky telling somebody that they were just lucky because it makes you sound envious," Peterson told me.

'We'll be back', say Australia's Davis Cup nearly-men

Nov 27 (Reuters) - Australia's Davis Cup players have vowed to return to Malaga and claim the title next year after losing a second successive final in the international men's team tournament on Sunday. "There hasn't been another nation that's gone back-to-back in the last two years, so we are showing a pretty good effort collectively," he told reporters. A crestfallen De Minaur conceded he had been outclassed by world number four Sinner in the second singles match after Popyrin had been beaten by Matteo Arnaldi in the opener. "I'm disappointed I wasn't able to give the boys a chance to play the doubles, that's probably the biggest disappointment." It was a remarkable journey for Australia, who began their campaign with back-to-back defeats yet still finished with the 50-overs World Cup in their arms for the sixth time. Shakib had already caused controversy over his appeal that led to Sri Lanka's Angelo Mathews becoming the first player in international cricket to be 'timed-out'. Cummins, for one, had no doubts about the stature of the original World Cup. "I think it's the pinnacle of international cricket," said Cummins, who was part of Australia's victorious 2015 squad. "The whole cricket world stops with this World Cup."

"What we've achieved today is unbelievable," a teary-eyed Marnus Labuschagne, who combined with Head in a match-winning partnership of 192, said. "India have been the team of the tournament, but you knew if you play your best cricket, you have a chance." Head ran backwards from cover to take a tumbling catch to get rid of the India captain. Australia wicketkeeper Josh Inglis took five catches, which is a record in a World Cup final.

A thrilling fourballs session was going the way of the Americans as they led in three matches deep into the back nine. But Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm and veteran Justin Rose ensured Europe won it 2-1/2 to 1-1/2, with three matches that went all the way to the 18th. "That was my moment there on the 18th -- I've made us a lot of points but I haven't had many moments like that so that was immense," Rose, playing his sixth Ryder Cup, said. Hovland was majestic as he and Aberg, the first Ryder Cup player not to contest a major, proved too hot for Homa and Harman to handle in match two. Matt Fitzpatrick, playing with McIlroy, earned his first Ryder Cup point in stunning fashion with four birdies and an eagle in an early blitz that Morikawa and Schauffele never recovered from, losing 5&3.

NEWCASTLE, England, Aug 27 (Reuters) - Darwin Nunez came off the bench to score twice as Liverpool snatched a sensational 2-1 Premier League win at Newcastle United on Sunday, with the visitors bouncing back from a straight red card in the first half for captain Virgil van Dijk. The introduction of Nunez proved a game-changer and he got the equaliser when Sven Botman fluffed his lines, allowing Nunez to rifle the ball across Nick Pope and in at the far post. "I feel very happy for the team to be able to help them," a beaming Nunez told Sky Sports, with keeper Alisson acting as his translator. But coach Shui Qingxia is unlikely to meet the same fate as her predecessor, Jia Xiuquan, who left his post after the Olympic exit. A victory at last year's Women's Asian Cup should be enough to earn the 56-year-old former midfielder a reprieve. But Wang Shuang, the darling of the Steel Roses squad, surprised fans in China by saying her team's elimination in the group phase was "not necessarily a bad thing". "It allows us all to see the gap between us and premier league teams, the teams in the U.S.," the 28-year-old Racing Louisville forward said. Jabeur was also the favourite last year but lost the final to big-hitting Elena Rybakina. Many years ago, as a fairly new federal magistrate judge, I was chatting about our kids with a local attorney I knew only slightly. The tickets were beyond my usual price range, and the game would be a fun outing with my 7-year-old. He had a woodworking hobby, and inside the package was an exquisitely crafted oak pencil case with bronze hinges. My ruling had made a big difference for them, and they wanted to extend this modest, personal gesture of gratitude. You don’t just stay inside the lines; you stay well inside the lines.

Hollywood development and production have mostly ground to a halt amid the film and TV writers' strike. Young workers hoping to break into entertainment say the strike has made a competitive job market even tougher. Sears, who is currently unemployed, graduated this year with a master's degree in entertainment industry management from Carnegie Mellon University. Now, she's attempting what feels like a herculean feat: getting her career off the ground in the midst of a months-long Hollywood writers' strike, the first labor stoppage to grind the industry to a halt in 15 years. Contact this reporter to share your experience during the writers' strike.

The first time I truly admitted that something was awry with my use of social media was the day of my daughter’s first-grade Christmas performance in 2019. I’d rearranged my work schedule to be there and was running a little late but could make it in time if I hurried. So before I started the car I hurriedly pulled Twitter up on my phone, checked my mentions and replied. What I wasn’t facing was how much of a habit, even an addiction, online social interaction had become for me. I clearly couldn’t avoid social media by willpower alone, so in 2021, friends encouraged me to take more extreme steps.
Black Men Don’t Do Therapy. Or So I Thought.

Sitting in a chair next to the record player, I’d play the song over and over and over, listening tearfully. When my favorite TV characters died, I’d mourn them, staying in my feelings for days at a time. Eventually I met a therapist who practiced cognitive behavioral therapy, an approach whose orientation toward problem-solving suited me. I’d learned to register, name and acknowledge my feelings as a way of managing them rather than being overwhelmed. Sadness sneaked up on me as I tried to describe my emotional life to people who I knew loved me but with whom I communicated through a haze of mutual discomfort.
With relentless Manchester City winning at Everton in the earlier kickoff to move four points clear, long-time league leaders Arsenal knew only a victory would suffice. The result also moved Brighton up to sixth place with games in hand on the teams around them. City could even secure it before that if Arsenal lose against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. I don't think City are going to do too many mistakes now," Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard said. And there was a lethargy about Arsenal's play as Brighton sucked the life out of them with their measured passing game.
Ten Hag pleased with United response in FA Cup semi-final win

LONDON, England, April 23 (Reuters) - Manchester United bounced back from a difficult week with a 7-6 shootout win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday that booked an FA Cup final spot to the relief of manager Erik ten Hag. It was the first-ever FA Cup semi-final shootout to go to sudden death. "He is quite cool when it comes to penalties and he's quite cool in general," Ten Hag said of Lindelof. MANCHESTER DERBYSunday's win set up the first all-Manchester FA Cup final, after City cruised past Sheffield United 3-0 on Saturday, and Ten Hag's second showpiece match in his first season at the helm after he guided United to a League Cup triumph in February. "Whether Manchester United win the cup or not it's going to be a fantastic season for them.
With an FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United on Saturday, Manchester City's next league game is Wednesday's potential title-decider at home to Arsenal. Arteta said his players must put all thoughts of the looming trip to the Etihad out of their minds until after the Southampton game. Newcastle have 56 points from 30 games with Spurs three points worse off having played a game more. Leicester, who appointed Dean Smith as interim manager last week, have 25 points from 31 games, with Southampton on 23 points and in danger of being marooned. Third-bottom Nottingham Forest (27 points), who are without a win in 10 league games, visit Liverpool on Saturday.
Children between ages 3 and 5 can discern which excuses are worthy of forgiveness and which are not. Excuses that involved helping another person were met with more understanding than excuses that seemed selfish. This shows that kids feel like prioritizing others is a more legitimate excuse than prioritizing yourself. "Morality is a type of common ground that we have with others, with mutual expectations about how we should behave and what counts as good grounds for justification," Li told Science Daily. "Usually if someone breaks a promise and gives you a lame reason, it implies they're not really a good friend," Li told Science Daily.

AL RAYYAN, Qatar, Nov 29 (Reuters) - England marched into the last 16 of the World Cup as Group B winners after Marcus Rashford's double and a Phil Foden strike justified their first starts of the tournament in a 3-0 hammering of an outclassed Wales on Tuesday. Wales could have reached the last 16 with a victory if the match between Iran and the United States ended level but any hope of that scenario unfolding evaporated rapidly once Rashford smashed home a free kick five minutes after the break. Wales, whose talisman Gareth Bale was substituted at halftime having made no impact, looked crestfallen as their first World Cup for 64 years fizzled out. England continued to dish out the punishment though and Rashford made it 3-0 with a surging run in from the right before shooting through a crowd and past Ward's legs in the 68th. "We were a little bit disappointed after the USA result and it was important to have a good performance the next game.
For decades doctors have been telling their patients that high levels of HDL, otherwise known as “good cholesterol,” could protect them from heart disease. But a new study suggests that having a lot of so-called good cholesterol doesn’t mean a lower risk of heart attacks. The new findings surprised the researchers, who originally designed their study to understand how cholesterol levels in Black and white middle-aged adults without heart disease affected their future risks. Previous research on "good" cholesterol and heart disease consisted of mostly white adults. Low HDL levels were associated with an increased risk of coronary heart disease in white participants, but not Black participants.

Crestfallen and anxious, he rushed to a nearby hospital where he saw his two children lying dead on stretchers.
CNN —The backlash against one moment in Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” music video appears to have prompted an edit on at least one platform. The video, which was written and directed by the singer, is meant to portray Swift’s “nightmare scenarios and intrusive thoughts,” according to her Instagram. The version of the video featured on Apple Music no longer cuts to the word, a moment some body positivity advocates construed as fatphobic. The YouTube version of the music video still featured the controversial scene as of Wednesday afternoon.
